Overview

Your day trip to Matobo National Park will begin with a pick-up from your hotel or lodge in Bulawayo. You will then be driven to the park, which is about an hour away.

Once you arrive at the park, you will meet your guide and begin your tour. You will visit the park’s most famous attractions, including the Matobo Hills, the Stone Age rock art, and the grave of Cecil Rhodes. You will also go on a rhino tracking safari, where you will have the opportunity to see these magnificent creatures up close.

At lunchtime, you will break for a picnic lunch in one of the park’s scenic spots. After lunch, you will continue your tour and see more of the park’s wildlife and scenery.

At the end of the day, you will be driven back to your hotel or lodge in Bulawayo.

What to expect:

This 7-hour tour of Matobo National Park will take you to some of the park’s most popular attractions, including:

  • Rhodes Grave: The gravesite of Cecil Rhodes, the British businessman and politician who founded Rhodesia
  • World View: A panoramic viewpoint that offers stunning views of the Matobo Hills
  • Rhino Walking: A guided walking safari where you will have the opportunity to see rhinos up close
  • Bushman Cave Paintings: A series of cave paintings created by the San people, who inhabited the Matobo Hills for thousands of years
  • Other animals in the National Park: Matobo National Park is home to a variety of other animals, including elephants, lions, leopards, and zebras. You may be able to see some of these animals during your tour.

  • Wear comfortable clothing and shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty.
